General Motors unveils Chevrolet traverse

General Motors unveils Lambda-based CUV called Chevrolet Traverse Chicago Auto Show. Although the Traverse shares underpinnings with the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook, its styling reflects Chevrolet’s latest design direction.

The Traverse’s exterior styling also includes turn signals integrated into the side mirrors, an integrated rear spoiler, 17-, 18- or 20-inch wheels, an available panoramic sunroof, and optional dual exhaust. Existing Lambdas use a six-speed automatic transmission with a 3.6-liter V-6 available in single- and dual-exhaust versions with respective horsepower ratings of 270 and 275.

General Motors Launched Hybrid- Tahoe Hybrid

General Motors has launched it new Hybrid called Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid. This is the first General Motors vehicle which will use the company’s all-new two-mode hybrid system. It has been named Green Car Journal’s 2008 means the Green Car of the Year. The award was presented at a press conference this morning at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Ron Cogan the Green car Journal editor and publisher said that “This is a milestone in many respects “People don’t think ‘green’ when SUVs are concerned, and for generally good reason since SUVs often get poor fuel economy compared to most other vehicles. Chevrolet’s Tahoe Hybrid changes this dynamic with a fuel efficiency improvement of up to 30 percent compared to similar vehicles equipped with a standard V-8.”

Honda launched Aviator in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched ‘Aviator’, an automatic scooter, in the Western market on Saturday. Honda Divisional Head NK Rattan said that “We have an all-India sales target of one lakh Aviators for 2008-2009,” Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, which is a 100-per cent subsidiary of Japan’s Honda Motor Company, launched the Aviator at the Delhi Auto Show in January.

Aviator is the sixth product from Honda India stable. Its previous launches include Activa, Dio, Eterno, Unicorn and Shine.
